Liposuction is a plastic surgery that aims at the removal of fats from different body areas.
Liposuction operation is done to improve the outer appearance of a person, and it is commonly performed in the following parts of the body:
- Hips (Internal- External)
The operation lasts for 1- 3 hours, and is performed under local or general anesthesia (as recommended by the physician).
The surgeon first makes a small incision through which he introduces a special cannula for suction used for breaking fat cells in order to be sucked and removed outside the body. Such procedure is repeated until a sufficient amount of fat is removed and until the protrusion of fatty areas disappears. When the operation is completed, the surgeon makes stitches for closing the surgical incision. Then, the corset specific to this surgery is worn.
The patient may experience pain after the anesthetic effect ends. Such pain can be treated with analgesics. The recovery period lasts for 2 weeks, and the congestion usually resolves within 1- 2 weeks.
The liposuction operation is safe if performed by professionally experienced doctors.
- Make sure you listen to the doctor’s advice.
- Avoid violent exercises for several weeks after the operation.
